Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr handed boost as star man set to be fit for club's next fixture after injury absence - Reports

Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr will reportedly have star midfielder Marcelo Brozovic back in the team for their next game. The Croatia international missed the side's last outing in the AFC Champions League after sustaining a minor injury.

According to Al-Nassr Zone on X, the former Inter Milan man has recovered from his injury and will be ready for selection in the club's next fixture. The Knights of Najd are scheduled to play Al-Orubah in the Saudi Pro League on Saturday, October 5.

Brozovic's return will be a huge boost for Stefano Pioli's side as they look to make it five wins on the bounce under his tutelage. The 31-year-old is an integral member of the side and has registered a goal in five appearances across competitions this season.

In their most recent match, the Saudi club secured a 2-1 victory over Al Rayyan in the AFC Champions League Elite on Monday (September 30). Cristiano Ronaldo was on the scoresheet in that encounter. The 39-year-old struck home a 76th-minute stunning left-footed effort from inside the box to double his side's lead after Sadio Mane's first-half opener.

The Knights of Najd will be all out for a third consecutive league victory under Pioli when they clash with Al-Orubah. Cristiano Ronaldo and Co. will be keen to close the gap between them and rivals Al-Hilal in the league standings. Al-Nassr are fourth with 11 points from five matches, four points adrift of Al-Hilal who are top of the table with 15 points.

How have Cristiano Ronaldo and Al-Nassr fared in the Saudi Pro League this term?

The Knights of Najd are gradually reaching top form after a slow start to the 2024-25 Saudi Pro League season. In their league opener, they were held to a 1-1 away draw by Al-Raed. They then thrashed Al-Fayha 4-1 away in their second league game but dropped points again when they clashed with Al-Ahli playing out another 1-1 draw.

These poor results led to the sacking of Luis Castro and he was replaced with Stefano Pioli. Since then, Al-Nassr has won back-to-back league games, defeating Al-Ettifaq and Al-Wehda 3-0 and 2-0 respectively.

Cristiano Ronaldo has also been in top form for his side in the league. He has scored four goals and provided an assist in five league games. He's registered at least a goal contribution in all the aforementioned matches except against Al-Ahli. He will hope to add another goal to his tally when he leads the team in their next league game versus Al-Orubah on Saturday.
