Cristiano Ronaldo sends message ahead of Al-Nassr's Saudi Super Cup clash against Al-Taawoun
As he returns to club football, Cristiano Ronaldo recently took to social media to share a message ahead of Al-Nassr's Saudi Super Cup semi-final clash against Al-Taawoun on Wednesday (August 14). After a disappointing quarter-final run at the Euro 2024 with Portugal in Germany, the legendary player is ready for the upcoming season.
Ronaldo has been prolific for the Knights of Najd since joining them in 2022, as he has registered 58 goals and 15 assists in 64 games across competitions. With his Al-Nassr contract ending in the summer of 2025, the 39-year-old icon heads into his final season of league football with the Arabian club.
Taking to Instagram on Tuesday (August 13), Cristiano Ronaldo shared a few photographs from his training session and wrote:
"Ready to Go."
Ronaldo has featured and won league titles for Manchester United, Juventus, and Real Madrid throughout his illustrious career. The five-time Ballon d'Or winner is known for his preparation and conditioning and is all set for the new campaign.
He will be keen to continue his form for Al-Nassr from the previous season that saw him break the league's record for most goals in a single season. Ronaldo netted 35 times in the 2023-24 Saudi Pro League and broke Abderrazak Hamdallah's 2018-19 record of 34 goals.

During an interview in January 2024, former Al-Nassr striker Pity Martinez praised Cristiano Ronaldo for his humility. The Argentine striker briefly played alongside the Portuguese legend at the Arabian club and was impressed by him.
Speaking to AS about Ronaldo, the River Plate striker said:
“I take my off hat to him. He’s different. He’s proven to be a great person. I take off my hat to him because a lot is said about him, and he’s different. Nothing like what people say, he’s very humble. He places himself at our level, never above. Living with him is different."
"He’s extremely competitive, pushes the limits, and can make mistakes. But he’s a great person, and what he has won, he won by himself. He also faced adversities and overcame them all," Martinez added.
“It was a pleasure to have spent time with him because he really is great. He’s a great person. It will remain a memory for the rest of my life, he showed himself to be a great person. Sharing the dressing room with this beast was something beautiful,” he concluded.
Martinez scored 13 goals and provided 10 assists in 58 games for Al-Nassr before returning to River Plate in Argentina.
