Cristiano Ronaldo reveals two things he will miss the most post-retirement
Cristiano Ronaldo spoke about the two things he will miss the most after he eventually retires. The 39-year-old Portuguese icon is nearing the end of his illustrious career.
In an interview on Rio Ferdinand's official YouTube channel about his potential life after retirement, Ronaldo shared he would miss the adrenaline rush and the feeling of nervousness he experiences on the pitch. The five-time Ballon d'Or winner said:
“I’m not going to have the adrenaline… or to be nervous, I think I’m going to miss that. Because other parts, I’m in good control. I have good people around me, I have good business, I have good things, a good income. But I think the adrenaline of football is never going to exist more. This is why I’m going a little bit further in football."
Ronaldo also opened up about how age would restrict him from contributing more to the game beyond the next two to three years. The former Real Madrid star explained:
"With 40s, you say, I give everything,' do you understand? 40 or 41 or 42, it doesn't matter. You say, I give my body for 25 years of football, I cannot give more because the age doesn't allow [me] to go further, for example."
“This is why I’m extending my longevity and this is why I take care of myself, keep working, because I know that [in] two or three years more, I still can produce something good," added Ronaldo.
Earlier this month, Cristiano Ronaldo netted his 900th career goal in Portugal's 2-1 win over Croatia in the UEFA Nations League.
After reaching the incredible milestone, the Al-Nassr captain revealed he wants to score 1000 career goals before hanging up his boots.
