Cristiano Ronaldo thanks Manchester United and Real Madrid in special Instagram post after latest milestone
Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo thanked his former clubs Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus, and current side Al-Nassr, in a special post on social media. The post celebrated his milestone of becoming the first player in football history to win the golden boot in four different countries.
Ronaldo netted twice against Al-Ittihad on the final matchday of the 2023-24 Saudi Pro League season on May 27. He finished as the league's top scorer with 35 goals in 31 games and finished third on the playmakers' standings with 11 assists.
He also became the record goalscorer in a single Pro League season, taking the record from Moroccan forward Abderrazak Hamdallah who scored 34 for Al-Nassr in 2018-19.
He celebrated the milestone with a post on his social media platforms, with a caption that read:
"Proud to make history as the first top scorer in 4 countries. A huge thank you to all the clubs, teammates and staff who helped me along the way."
On his Instagram post, he mentioned Manchester United, Juventus, Real Madrid and Al-Nassr in a comment thanking them for playing an important role in his footballing journey.
The Portuguese maestro has a history of winning Golden Boots at the club and country level, with the latest one being the 19th top-scoring title in his career.
He scored 31 goals in 34 appearances for Manchester United to win the 2007-08 Premier League Golden Boot. In Spain, he won three golden boots, bagging 40, 31 and 48 goals in 2010-11, 2013-14 and 2014-15, respectively, for Real Madrid.
With Juventus, he won the Paolo Rossi award for netting 29 goals in 33 appearances in the 2020-21 season. His latest victory makes him the only player to have won a golden boot in four different nations, ahead of legendary forwards like Luis Suarez and Ruud van Nistelrooy.

At 39 years of age, Cristiano Ronaldo has reached yet another set of incredible milestones and is showing no signs of slowing down.
With two goals against Al-Ittihad on May 27, Ronaldo reached the milestone of 50 goals (in 50 appearances) in the 2023-24 campaign. This marked the first time he had breached the 50-goal mark in a season since his 51-goal outing for Real Madrid in the 2015-16 campaign.
After winning the golden boot in a fourth different country (Saudi Arabia), which is a record in itself, Ronaldo made a post on social media with the caption:
"I don't follow the records, the records follow me."
Up next, Ronaldo will be seen captaining his nation, Portugal, at the 2024 European Championships. With such an impressive season under his belt, he will be expected to lead the line and inspire his side to make a deep run in the tournament.
