David Beckham shares throwback England photo and wishes 'good luck' to the Three Lions ahead of Euro 2024 clash against Slovakia

Former England captain David Beckham has shared a collage of throwback photos of supporting or playing for his country over the years. His post comes right ahead of the Three Lions' Euro 2024 Round of 16 clash against Slovakia.

Beckham played 115 games for his country, scoring 17 goals and providing 42 assists. The former Manchester United superstar represented his country seven times at the European Championships. He provided five assists in those games.

Beckham, who boasts 88 million followers on Instagram, made a social media post, writing:

"Loving @euro2024 so far ❤️⚽️ Good luck tonight boys @england #Euro2024."

In one of the images, David Beckham could be seen wearing an England jersey as a child. Then in other two images, he is seen representing his country in his playing career. Beckham also added a recent image of his in the post.

Gareth Southgate's team, meanwhile, are looking to progress to the quarter-finals of Euro 2024. They finished runner-ups at Euro 2020 and are keen on going one step further.

While England are still unbeaten at the tournament, they haven't been able to please fans and pundits with their displays. A 1-0 win against Serbia in the opening game was followed by a 1-1 draw against Denmark and a goalless affair against Slovania.

The consensus is that Southgate hasn't been able to make the most of the rich talent pool at his disposal. The Three Lions have scraped past games. A similar result in the Round of 16, though, would get the job done for England.

David Beckham heaped praise on England ace Jude Bellingham ahead of Euro 2024

While David Beckham was once the face of England's national team, Jude Bellingham has taken up that role in recent times. The Real Madrid midfielder had an incredible season with his club, scoring 23 goals and providing 13 assists in 42 games across competitions.

He started Euro 2024 well, scoring the solitary goal during the Serbia win. Beckham waxed lyrical about Bellingham, recently telling talkSPORT:

"Obviously the season Jude's had and talent that he is, but it's not just the talent with Jude, it's the way he is, the way he handles himself, he's a model pro that knows exactly what he needs to do."

Jude Bellingham finished his club season winning La Liga, Supercopa de Espana, and the UEFA Champions League with Real Madrid. He is looking to cap off the incredible season with Euro 2024. Bellingham needs to be at his best for England to win and David Beckham is a fan of the new-generation superstar.
