Football fans on X have praised the German duo of Jamal Musiala and Florian Wirtz for naming Lionel Messi as their idol. Both Wirtz and Musiala are regarded by many as being among the finest talents in European football over the last year or so.

Since his emergence at Barcelona, Lionel Messi has been regarded as one of the greatest footballers to ever play the game professionally, and he has lived up to the name. His achievements have seen him become the most decorated player in the history of the sport, while also winning an impressive eight Ballon d'Or crowns.

As a result of the achievements of Messi over the course of his career, many young footballers look up to him as a role model and icon. Two more have been revealed in Wirtz and Musiala, who named him in a chat with kids during the March international break in Germany.

Lionel Messi has won everything there is to win in football, recently revealing that he has fulfilled all of his career wishes in the sport. Young players like Jamal Musiala and Florian Wirtz are already on the path, having each begun to win titles with Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen, respectively.

Wirtz recently led Bayer Leverkusen to win their first-ever Bundesliga title with 11 goals and ten assists in 29 appearances. Musiala has also helped his club reach the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League, and has 12 goals in 36 appearances this season.


Lionel Messi helps Inter Miami to win over Nashville

Inter Miami captain Lionel Messi was at his brilliant best as he led his side to a 3-1 win over Nashville SC. The Argentine great was involved in all three goals, scoring twice and providing an assist to help his side claim all three points.

Nashville took a shock lead after just two minutes before Messi equalised after the ball fell to him inside the box. The 36-year-old then provided a cross for Sergio Busquets to glance home his first Inter Miami goal, turning the game on its head in the 39th minute.

Messi added his second of the game from the penalty spot in the 81st minute, sealing the win for his side. The forward has now contributed seven goals and three assists in just six MLS matches this season.
