“Didn’t know whether to laugh or cry!" - Germany supporter details bizarre Euro 2024 experience after getting hand broken by Niclas Fullkrug shot

Germany supporter Kai Flathmann has revealed his bizarre EURO 2024 experience, as he managed to get his hand broken by a Niclas Fullkrug shot. The Borussia Dortmund striker was warming up ahead of their 5-1 opener against Scotland when his blasted shot met Flathmann's hand.

The Germany supporter had paid for the front-row experience behind the goal for the game, but his eyes weren't on the warm-ups in that moment. Sadly for Flathmann, he missed the game as he had to be stretchered off to an ambulance and taken to the hospital.

However, he happens to be in a rather cheerful mood, even though he missed the game, as he revealed the events that took place to BILD (via Mirror):

“I sang along to the anthem on a stretcher! I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry! I unfortunately had to give up my dream of watching the opening game! But when do you ever get your hand broken by Fullkrug?
“Luckily, he adjusted in the game and made it 4-0! On Wednesday we will continue in Stuttgart and I will be there to cheer the team from behind the goal again.”

He later shared on social media (via Mirror):

“I have no words, crazy things. Bild is now reporting on this unfortunate incident and the German FA have been in touch with me as well!”

Flathmann will look forward to continuing his journey as a supporter for Germany, as they continue their push to win the EURO 2024 trophy at home.

Julian Nagelsmann speaks about Germany's youth and experienced players ahead of second EURO 2024 clash

Germany head coach Julian Nagelsmann spoke about his squad ahead of their upcoming game against Hungary. They will look for their second win of the competition, with another three points set to guarantee them a spot in the knockout stages.

The average age of Nagelsmann's squad is over 28, which makes them the oldest squad in EURO 2024. However, youngsters like Florian Wirtz and Jamal Musiala were vital in their win over Scotland, leading to questions about how the head coach views youth and experience. Nagelsmann said to the press (via AP):

“It’s always good to have a good mix in your team between experienced players and young, talented players. I think it’s important that the young players are open-minded, listen to the older players with experience, to improve.
“We have some experienced players in the squad. They have all experienced different situations, have solutions for different situations, especially when you talk about pressure, when you talk about situations to deal with on the pitch and off the pitch.”

Julian Nagelsmann is notably only 36 years old, making him the youngest head coach at EURO 2024. He also happens to be in the same age range as some of the players, with Manuel Neuer two years older than him.
