"Mino would have been proud" - Zlatan Ibrahimovic shares social media post alongside Manchester City superstar Erling Haaland

Former Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic made a heartwarming social media post after meeting Manchester City's Erling Haaland. The Swedish striker, who serves in an advisory role at AC Milan, met with the Norway international ahead of the Cityzens' friendly with the Italian giants on Saturday (July 27).

It was Haaland who opened the scoring in the match to give his side the lead in the 19th minute. However, Lorenzo Colombo netted twice in the space of four minutes (30' and 34') to put the Serie A outfit ahead before halftime. James McAtee restored parity in the second half (55'), only to see Marco Nasti score a 78th-minute winner for AC Milan (3-2).

Haaland and Ibrahimovic served as clients of the popular agent Mino Raiola, who unfortunately passed away in 2022. Sharing a picture of the pair on his X account (formerly Twitter), the former Barcelona star wrote in the caption:

"Mino would have been proud @ErlingHaaland."

Riola sadly passed away before Haaland completed his reported €60 million move from Borussia Dortmund to Manchester City in the summer of 2022. Brazilian lawyer Rafaela Pimenta took over and helped the 24-year-old attacker see through his transfer to the Premier League.

Haaland has been brilliant since arriving in England, bagging 90 goals and 15 assists in 98 appearances across competitions for Pep Guardiola's side. He already has two English top-flight titles and a UEFA Champions League trophy to his name, among other honors from his time at the Etihad.

Manchester City striker Erling Haaland is preparing for the start of the new campaign after missing out on winning the UEFA Champions League last campaign. The Cityzens lost out on penalties to Real Madrid in the quarter-final but managed to record a fourth straight Premier League success.

When asked if the team was lacking anything, the Norwegian said (via The Guardian):

"I don't think we're missing anything. City has been close. For the last three years, they have been so close in the Champions League and one year we won the Champions League and have won the Premier League four years in a row."

Up next for Haaland and Co. is a friendly against Barcelona in Orlando on Tuesday (July 30). Their Premier League campaign gets underway with a trip to Stamford Bridge, where they face Chelsea on August 18.
