“Don’t stand there naked in the changing room” - Alex Telles warns Cristiano Ronaldo’s new teammate Wesley about Al-Nassr rule
Cristiano Ronaldo's former Al-Nassr teammate Alex Telles has opened up about a key locker room advice he gave to his fellow countryman. The full-back recently dished out dressing room ettiquettes to new Saudi Pro League entrant Wesley.
Telles followed Ronaldo in swapping the Manchester United jersey for Al-Nassr's in 2023. After spending a year with the Saudi club, the 31-year-old moved to his native Brazil to play for Botafogo.
Telles, however, shared an important piece of information his compatriot Wesley needs to keep in mind after moving to Saudi Arabia from Corinthians.
In an interview with Globo Esporte (via TalkSPORT), Telles spoke about the difference in cultures between the Brazilian and Saudi clubs. He spoke about how players in Saudi Arabia don't get naked in front of each other in the dressing room.
"In Saudi Arabia, the shower is separate and closed. Even when changing clothes, people wear towels," he said.
"I went there for the first time, which was normal, but they immediately told me, 'don't do that, the guys don't like it, leave the towel on'," Telles recalled.
When asked what advice he would give the young Brazilian forward Wesley, the full-back replied:
"Give him a shout and say, 'don't stand there naked in the middle of the changing room.'"
Wesley, 19, signed a four-year deal with Al-Nassr in the summer.
Cristiano Ronaldo admits Al-Nassr "probably" his last club
Cristiano Ronaldo, 39, recently crossed the 900-goal mark to become the first player to achieve the milestone. The Portuguese superstar gave an insight into life at Al-Nassr and if he plans on moving to another club before calling it a day.
In an interview with Portuguese TV Now (via the BBC) last month, the former Manchester United player claimed he might retire at the Saudi club.
"I don't know if I will retire soon, in two or three years, but probably I will retire here at Al-Nassr. I'm happy at this club, I feel good in this country too. I'm happy to play in Saudi Arabia and I want to continue," Ronaldo said.
These words would be music to the ears of Al-Nassr fans as they saw their team fail to win without their captain, who was ruled out with a viral infection, on Monday, September 16. They drew with Al-Shorta of Iraq 1-1 in the revamped AFC Champions League Elite.
