Ecstasy pills designed after Lionel Messi seized during music festival in Argentina, pictures surface
Ecstacy pills designed after Lionel Messi's face were seized in Buenos Aires from a drug dealer during a music festival.
According to Daily Star, the dealer tried to smuggle a bag with 11 ecstacy pills in it to the event. The bag was seized and it was found that 10 out of the 11 pills were designed after the face of the Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) superstar.
The incident took place on May 4. Police are understood to be left stunned by the fact that the pills were designed after Lionel Messi's face. Images of the seized pills have since surfaced on social media.
Lionel Messi is back to PSG training
Lionel Messi was recently handed a two week suspension by PSG for his 'unauthorised' Saudi Arabia trip. Messi traveled to the Middle Eastern country a day after the Parisians' 3-1 home loss against Lorient.
While Messi didn't take part in the clash against Troyes, the Argentine was spotted back in training. The seven-time Ballon d'Or winner previously issued an apology statement, saying (via his Instagram story):
“I thought we were going to have a day off after the game, as it always does. I had this trip organised and couldn't cancel it. I had already cancelled it before. I apologise to my teammates, and I'm waiting for what the club wants to do with me.”
Messi is currently in the final months of his PSG contract and hasn't yet extended his deal. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported that the 2022 FIFA World Cup winner will leave Les Parisiens at the end of the 2022-23 season.
Messi has been linked with a return to Barcelona. However, there are financial complications for a move to materialize. He reportedly also has a €320 million per year offer from Saudi Pro League club Al-Hilal. It will be interesting to follow Messi's next move.
