England skipper Harry Kane's top 3 votes for 2024 FIFA The Best men’s player award revealed

England national team captain Harry Kane voted for Manchester City's Rodri as his FIFA The Best Men's Player winner for 2024, revealed FIFA. The Bayern Munich striker named countryman Jude Bellingham in second, while opting for Vinicius Junior in third.

All three players secured a podium finish at the award ceremony in Doha on Tuesday, December 17. While Vinicius won the award, Rodri finished second and Bellingham was third.

Harry Kane wasn't among the nominees for this year's awards. The Englishman enjoyed a stunning 2023/24 campaign with Bayern Munich, registering 44 goals and 12 assists in 45 games.

However, the 31-year-old couldn't win any trophies with the Bavarians, while he also had a disappointing run with the Three Lions at Euro 2024. Meanwhile, Rodri, Vinicius, and Bellingham were quite successful with Manchester City and Real Madrid respectively.

The Spaniard won Euro 2024 with La Roja and pipped the Brazilian to the Ballon d'Or this year. However, Vinicius Junior has come on on top at FIFA The Best Awards.

Meanwhile, last year's winner Lionel Messi finished sixth in the final ranking, behind Dani Carvajal in fourth and Barcelona starlet Lamine Yamal in fifth. Toni Kroos was seventh, followed by Erling Haaland, Kylian Mbappe, and Florian Wirtz. Real Madrid's Federico Valverde finished 11th.

Harry Kane has been in fine form this season, scoring 20 goals and setting up nine more from 19 games across competitions. The Englishman's contract with Bayern Munich expires in 2027.

Kane joined the Bavarians from Tottenham Hotspur in a reported €100m move in the summer of 2023. He has been in superb form for the Bundesliga giants so far, but recent reports have suggested that the club have an eye out for the future.

The Englishman has scored 213 goals in the Premier League, the second-most in the league behind Alan Shearer (260). As such, he could be tempted to return to England in the future to break his countryman's record.

Meanwhile, it has been suggested that Bayern Munich are monitoring multiple candidates to eventually replace Harry Kane at the Allianz Arena. The Englishman will turn 32 next summer and cannot be expected to perform at the highest level forever.

Eintracht Frankfurt forward Omar Marmoush has been named as an option for the job. Benjamin Sesko, Viktor Gyokeres, and Lois Openda are apparently on the Bavarians' wish list as well.
