Erling Haaland filmed partying on deck with DJ in Marbella; enjoys free time during Euro 2024 after Norway failed to qualify
Erling Haaland is enjoying his downtime by partying in Marbella after Norway failed to book their place in Euro 2024. The prolific center-forward was filmed on the decks with DJ Angelo Sanchez.
A video posted on Instagram showed Haaland, 23, jamming to Pink Floyd's Another Brick in the Wall with Sanchez and others. The group were at the decks in Playa Padre restaurant in Marbella.
The Manchester City superstar is getting a well-deserved break after a grueling season. He won the Premier League's Golden Boot for a second consecutive season with 27 goals in 31 games.
Erling Haaland was part of the City side that won the Premier League title. He also starred for Norway on international duty, but they failed to qualify for Euro 2024.
Several of the Norwegian forward's club teammates are participating in the tournament for their nations. Rodri (Spain), Phil Foden, Kyle Walker, John Stones (England), and Kevin De Bruyne (Belgium) are all in action.
It's not the first time Haaland has spent the off-season partying. He was spotted in a nightclub in Monaco after a monstrous start to his City career, which ended in a continental treble.
Jamie Carragher questions Harry Kane being used as 'England's Erling Haaland' at Euro 2024
England kicked off their Euro 2024 campaign with a 1-0 win against Serbia on Sunday (June 16). Jude Bellingham's header sealed all three points in a fairly unconvincing showing from one of the tournament's favorites.
Harry Kane captained the Three Lions but struggled to get a foothold in the game. He had just two touches of the ball, and his lack of involvement led to question marks over Gareth Southgate's use of last season's most prolific European frontman.
Jamie Carragher touched on this by comparing Kane to Erling Haaland (via The Telegraph):
“Of all Gareth Southgate’s strategies for winning the Euros, few anticipated Harry Kane being reinvented as Erling Haaland."
Haaland spent most of last season grabbing goals but sometimes lacking a major influence in a game. Carragher feels Kane has more to his game, and using him in such a withdrawn role reduces his use:
"The problem with a player of Kane’s many abilities is that it reduces his effectiveness by 50 per cent. Kane is a multi-tasking, modern centre-forward who was reduced to one-dimension during the 1-0 win over Serbia."
Kane was sensational in his debut season for Bayern Munich, posting 44 goals and 12 assists in 45 games across competitions. Many tipped him to be Euro 2024's Golden Boot winner, but he struggled to impress in England's opener.
