Euro 2024: How much do England players get paid for every match?

England are in action at UEFA Euro 2024, taking on Switzerland in the quarter-final in Dusseldorf on Saturday (July 6). Gareth Southgate's side comprise players playing for some of the top clubs in the game, mostly in the Premier League.

In other words, most of the Three Lions players are some of the top earners in club football. But how much are they earning per game while on international duty at Euro 2024?

As per Wales Online, they are earning £2000 per game, potentially making it £14,000 per player if the team reach the final. However, the entire earnings go to the England Football Foundation, who spend it on charities, something that has been going on since 2007.

However, it's pertinent to note that if the Three Lions go all the way at Euro 2024, they are set to earn a financial windfall - £24 million - with captain Harry Kane and Jude Bellingham set to share £9.6 million between them. Boss Southgate would get richer by £4 million, while the other players would get a share of the remaining £14 million.

Moreover, players can also earn from match bonuses from UEFA - €1 million (£847,000) for a win and €500,000 (£423,000) for a draw. Each team is guaranteed €9.25 million (£7.8 million) for appearing in the finals.

England, having reached the quarter-finals, are set to earn at least another €2.5 million (£2.1 million), which will reach €4 million (£3.4 million) if they reach the last-four.

Following a cagey start to the match, Switzerland drew first blood, with Breel Embolo breaking the deadlock in Dusseldorf in the 75th minute following a well-worked move.

Southgate rang on the changes, bringing on Luke Shaw - out of competitive action for five months, Cole Palmer and Eberechi Eze, respectively replacing Kieran Trippier, Ezri Konsa and Kobbie Mainoo.

The move paid immediate dividends, with Bukayo Saka producing a fine finish to beat Swiss custodian Yann Sommer five minutes later, forcing extra time. Can the Three Lions complete the comeback before the shootout?
