Euro 2024: Patrik Schick overtakes Cristiano Ronaldo, Harry Kane in unique stat after goal vs Georgia
Czech Republic striker Patrik Schick scored the equaliser against Georgia in the 1-1 Euro 2024 draw in Hamburg (June 22) to overtake Cristiano Ronaldo and Harry Kane for most goals in the last two European Championships. While Ronaldo is yet to score in this year's Euros, Kane has netted one.
Schick's equaliser came just before the hour mark after Georgia had taken a surprise lead in first-half stoppage time through Georges Mikautadze's penalty in Hamburg.
The 28-year-old Schick had netted five times in as many games at Euro 2024, only failing to score in the 1-0 group-stage defeat to eventual runners-up England. He scored the only goal in the Czech's 2-1 defeat to 1992 champions Denmark in the quarterfinals.
Kane netted four times in seven games at Euro 2020, drawing blanks in the three group games and the final defeat to Italy on penalties. Ronaldo, meanwhile, had five goals in four games as defending champions Portugal lost 1-0 to Belgium in the Round of 16.
As per Sofascore, Schick is now the player with the most goals at the last two Euros, breaking a tie with Ronaldo and Kane. He also has the most goals by a Czech player at the European Championship.
The draw means both the Czech Republic and Georgia are off the mark at Euro 2024, which keeps alive their hopes to reach the knockouts.

After scoring five times apiece at Euro 2020, both Cristiano Ronaldo and Patrik Schick drew blanks in their respective Euro 2024 openers, with the 2016 champions eventually getting all three points with a 2-1 come-from-behind win.
Schick, though, is off the mark in this year's edition, something Ronaldo will look to emulate as A Selecao take on Turkey in their next group game in Dortmund, with a win to take them through to the knockouts. The goal will also make Ronaldo the first player to score in six different European Championships, with no other player doing so in more than three.
Meanwhile, Patrik Schick's Czech Republic take on Turkey in their last group game on Wednesday (June 26) in Hamburg in a potentially winner-takes-all showdown for a place in the Round of 16.
