"Even Cristiano Ronaldo is crticized" - PSG star provides response when asked to speak about recent criticism
Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) midfielder Warren Zaire-Emery has cited Cristiano Ronaldo's example while discussing his recent criticism. The Frenchman, aged 18, has been scrutinized this season.
Zaire-Emery made a name for himself at a young age and has already made 83 senior appearances for PSG, registering six goals and seven assists. The teenager, who has also been capped four times by France, is tipped for a bright future.
However, his performance levels this season have not been up to the mark which has seen him come under criticism. In response to his critics, the midfielder has insisted that even Cristiano Ronaldo is criticized despite being one of the greatest players.
Zaire-Emery claimed he is not bothered by the criticism and was quoted as saying by Get Football News France:
“Criticism? There will always be some. When I see that even Cristiano Ronaldo is criticized when there is nothing to say about the player… It is up to me to work and ignore everything that is on social networks.”
Warren Zaire-Emery is predominantly a midfielder who is comfortable either as a No. 6 or 8. He has also featured on the right flank for PSG and even as a right-back on two occasions this season.
The youngster has made nine appearances across competitions this campaign scoring once.
Barcelona star Wojciech Szczesny picks between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi
Barcelona goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny has shared his take on the GOAT debate by naming his choice between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. The two superstars share an eternal rivalry.
Szczesny came out of retirement to join Barcelona earlier this month as an emergency signing after Marc-Andre ter Stegen suffered a season-ending knee injury. The former Arsenal and Juventus keeper picked Lionel Messi ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo.
Szczesny was quoted as saying by Barca Universal:
“Ronaldo and Messi are very different, they are both great players and for me, they are the best players in history. For the beauty of football that Messi has shown in the last 20 years, for me he has to be number one."
Szczesny has picked Messi ahead of Ronaldo despite spending three seasons alongside the Portuguese ace at Juventus. The two played 101 games as teammates for the Italian giants.
