"Every single word that Cristiano Ronaldo told me" - Piers Morgan blasts Erik Ten Hag as Manchester United announce sacking

Cristiano Ronaldo superfan Piers Morgan has wasted no time and taken shots at Erik ten Hag following his Manchester United sacking. The British journalist claims that everything the Portuguese superstar said about the Dutchman has proven true, and this has led to the sacking.

Taking to X after Manchester United announced the sacking of Ten Hag on Monday (October 28), Morgan blasted the manager. He claimed that the former Ajax man was mediocre and disrespectful during his time at Old Trafford. He wrote:

"Every single word that @Cristiano told me about Ten Hag in our explosive interview was born out by events. He was an over-promoted, delusional, disrespectful, and thoroughly mediocre manager who couldn't handle world class talent or run a club that size."

It was not the first time the TV presenter spoke about Ten Hag. He claimed that the Dutchman was a 'complete idiot' for saying that he was not Harry Potter to turn things around at Manchester United swiftly. He said on talkSPORT previously:

"Because Ten Hag is a complete idiot. I'm sorry, he is. He has been since he went there, right? He talks in complete gibberish. He's now banging on about Harry Potter or something.
"Ten Hag is everything Cristiano Ronaldo told me he was in that interview, which led to him leaving United. The biggest problem with Ten Hag, he's like that bossy little school teacher you get who doesn't know how to handle supreme academic talent."

Manchester United parted ways with Ten Hag on Monday – just under two years after they terminated Cristiano Ronaldo's contract following his comments on the club and the manager.

What did Cristiano Ronaldo say about Erik ten Hag at Manchester United?

Cristiano Ronaldo did not hold back during his interview with Piers Morgan in 2022 and claimed that Erik ten Hag had no respect for him at Manchester United. The former Real Madrid superstar added that he was never going to respect the manager as well because of the way he was treated.

The Portuguese legend claimed that the manager kept asking him to press the opponents and said (via Goal):

"The coach didn't have respect for me [Cristiano Ronaldo]. So this is why the relationship, it's in that way. He keep saying in the press that he come to me, he like me blah, blah, blah, but that is only for the press, 100 per cent. If you don't have respect for me, I'm never going to have respect for you."

Manchester United are struggling in the Premier League this season and sit 14th in the league table. The Red Devils are also winless in the Europa League and are 21st after drawing all three of their matches.
