Ex-Liverpool and Barcelona ace Luis Suarez rocks new look once adopted by Lionel Messi

Former Liverpool and Barcelona striker Luis Suarez is currently rocking a new look, which Lionel Messi has worn in the past. The 37-year-old striker has notably had a black hairstyle for much of his career. However, he has now opted for an entirely new style - going platinum blond.

His new look is rather polished and clean, cropped at the sides for a fade. The top has more volume, and the overall style and bright color are eye-catching. His wife Sofia Balbi posted a picture of Suarez rocking the new hairstyle on her Instagram Stories, as can be seen below:

Notably, his longtime friend and teammate at Inter Miami and Barcelona once rocked the same hairstyle. Messi shocked the world with his platinum blonde look when the legendary Argentine was still playing at Camp Nou in 2016.

At the time, he revealed his reason for doing the shocking makeover, telling Telefe (via Metro):

"One particularly tough day I decided to dye my hair. I had to start again from scratch. I said to myself, 'I have to make a clean break and start over'."

He wasn't the only one to change his look at Barcelona that year, as Neymar also did the same thing. The talented Brazilian winger went on to reveal that they had tried - and failed, to convince Suarez to join their new hairdo:

"Messi and I tried to convince Luis Suarez to dye his hair blonde, but he didn’t want to do it. It was a promise I made my friends. I said I would dye my hair blond if I won the gold medal at the Olympic Games."

It has taken nearly a decade, but it seems as though Suarez has finally followed his colleagues.

When Luis Suarez spoke about what makes Lionel Messi angry

Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi have been close friends for a long time. AFter playing together at Barcelona, their paths have crossed once more in the MLS with Inter Miami. Notably, Messi was a big part of Suarez's decision to join the Florida club.

While Messi is well known for his goalscoring and playmaking, fans have rarely seen the legendary Argentine get angry. However, Suarez, who has shared dressing rooms and dinner tables, has. In February 2024, the retired Uruguayan international revealed on the La Mesa podcast:

“It’s hot for him to lose little games in football and in training. Maybe he’s losing at soccer, tennis, and he gets hot. If you eat (annoy) him, he gets angry. But then get ready, because he eats you every time.”

Both players are the reason behind Inter Miami's rise in the MLS. Suarez has scored 17 goals and provided six assists in 23 league games this season, while Messi has scored 14 and provided 10 assists in 15 league games.
