Exit linked-Liverpool star admits transfer fee club asking for his sale is 'majorly high'

Exit linked-Liverpool star Sepp van den Berg shared his opinions on the transfer fee demanded by the Reds for his sale. The Dutch defender joined the Merseyside club in 2019 from PEC Zwolle and has been on loan to different teams since 2021.

Sepp van den Berg made only four appearances for Liverpool, followed by being on a one-year loan to Preston North End in 2021. In 2022, the 22-year-old was on loan to Schalke 04 for a season followed by another one-season loan to Mainz 05.

Sepp van den Berg pulled an impressive performance last season, recording three goals in 36 appearances. The Reds are reportedly setting his transfer to be around £20-£25 million, which the Dutchman himself has regarded to be 'majorly high'.

While speaking about his transfer fee from Liverpool, Sepp van den Berg told Mail Sport:

"I know in today’s market (high prices) will happen. For the price they want for me, hmmm… Liverpool may think it is right as I had a good season, if they want £20-£25m that is a lot more. Hopefully we can find a way. Maybe I stay, maybe I go. The first reaction from me is that it was quite high! It is also a compliment. But it makes it difficult, £20m is majorly high."

Sepp van den Berg's contract with the Reds is valid until June 30, 2026.

Last year, it was reported that Alexander-Arnold tried to convince Bellingham to join the Reds, which did not pan out. However, it is speculated that the Los Blancos midfielder might be able to reverse the situation this year.

Trent Alexander-Arnold, who is in the final year of his contract with the Reds, started his senior career with the club in 2016 and has recorded 19 goals and 81 assists in 310 appearances.
