“Fandom that can only be described as cringeworthy” - Paddy Power mock Cristiano Ronaldo fanboy Piers Morgan in hilarious Euro 2024 advert

Paddy Power has hilariously trolled Piers Morgan by mocking his admiration for being the 'biggest Cristiano Ronaldo fanboy.' The British broadcaster is one of the Portugal captain's most well-known fans in the celebrity world.

The Irish gambling company labeled Talk TV host Morgan a 'TV personality turned YouTuber.' UK comedian Anthony Richardson of @theexplodingheads on TikTok acts as a news presenter. He suggests Ronaldo, 39, is playing in his final international tournament at Euro 2024.

Richardson warns that Morgan will tweet obsessively about Ronaldo one final time during the Euros. He points out that the British interviewer isn't Portuguese and doesn't support a club the five-time Ballon d'Or winner has ever played for.

Piers Morgan's son Spencer also appears in the satirical news report. He claims his father will do what he does best and make the tournament 'all about him', adding:

"He's been with Ronaldo through thick and thin, displaying levels of fandom that can only be described as cringeworthy for a man of his age."

Piers Morgan has a long-running friendship with Cristiano Ronaldo dates back to his playing days at Juventus in Turin. Portugal's all-time top scorer has often given the Brit interviews and exposes.

Cristiano Ronaldo gave one of the most controversial and explosive interviews in the football world for many years. He slammed Manchester United from the club's ownership, to the manager, to the youth players' mentality and training facilities.

All of this was during a lengthy interview cut in parts with none other than Piers Morgan. The five-time UEFA Champions League winner doesn't often go public with his opinion but he asked for the interview to get his point across.

Morgan explained this to talkSPORT while the interview was airing in separate parts

"Well, Cristiano asked me to do it – simple as that. I didn't ask him, he asked me. It was all very recent. He's been thinking about this for a while. I think it's no secret that he's felt a build-up of deep frustration about what's been happening at United over the last year. He felt it was time to speak out."

Ronaldo's interview on Piers Morgan Uncensored went viral within minutes of its release. Morgan's Talk TV streaming service, which had just formed in April 2022, started doing record viewership numbers.

The Portuguese icon left United shortly after the interview when the club and the player mutually agreed to terminate his contract. He headed to Saudi Pro League giants Al-Nassr in January 2023, but Morgan wanted him at his beloved Arsenal.
