Vinicius Jr. had an impressive 2023-24 season and also stood second in the 2024 Ballon d'Or rankings. His incredible season saw him contribute 37 G/A (26 goals, 11 assists) in 49 games for club and country. He won the UEFA Champions League, LaLiga, and the Supercopa de Espana with Real Madrid in the 2023-24 season.
According to a report by Brazilian outlet Ge Globo journalist CahĂȘ Mota, FIFA will crown Vinicius Jr. as the Best Men's Player in the 2024 FIFA The Best Awards. The Brazilian forward alongside Los Blancos' squad is already in Doha, Qatar, to play the Intercontinental Cup final. The report suggests that Vini Jr. is expected to attend the ceremony on Tuesday night after training.
Vinicius Jr. will be the first Brazilian to win the FIFA The Best award since 2007. He will join Selecao legends like Romario, Ronaldo Nazario (three times), Rivaldo, Ronaldinho Gaucho (two times), and Kaka who've won FIFA The Best awards before him.
The 2024 FIFA The Best Awards will honor players across 10 categories, including Best Men's and Women's Player, Best Men's and Women's Goalkeeper, Best Coaches in men's and women's football, and the Puskas Award.
