"Finally man" – Chelsea star Conor Gallagher sends message to former club teammate as he closes in on Stamford Bridge exit

Chelsea star Conor Gallagher has sent a message on social media to England ace Marc Guehi with the former allegedly close to leaving the Stamford Bridge side this summer.

Gallagher, 24, has emerged as a topic of speculation in the recent past as his team are keen to offload the star this summer. He has reportedly recently rejected a two-year contract renewal as the player was left unimpressed by the inferior squad role offered by his club.

However, according to BBC journalist Nizaar Kinsella, Gallagher is expected to join Atletico Madrid after initially being against the potential switch. Last week, Chelsea accepted a £34 million offer from the La Liga club and they are waiting for their star to finalise the move.

Meanwhile, Gallagher's England teammate Guehi lately took to Instagram to thank supporters for their support during the Three Lions' UEFA Euro 2024 campaign. He captioned his post on Instagram:

"I've had some time away to rest [and] reflect on this summer [and] it was about time I came on here to say thank you to everyone for their support! It was amazing to experience a senior tournament with England, [and] although we fell short, I have no doubt whatsoever we'll be back! This is a very special group. I thank God for the opportunity 🙏🏿"

Guehi, who featured in six matches at the Euro 2024, concluded:

"Massive thank you to all the fans. We had some amazing moments during the tournament [and] you guys carried us through some tough moments. Lastly, a huge thank you to Gareth [Southgate] for everything you did for me. I wouldn't be here without your trust [and] belief in me, wishing you all the best in the future! Thank you."

Chelsea working on Victor Osimhen deal

According to Football Insider, Chelsea are continuing their efforts to lure top target Victor Osimhen away from Napoli this summer. However, they will not activate the Nigerian's release clause of £93.5 million.

Enzo Maresca's outfit are believed to be trying to negotiate a deal to sign Osimhen by offering Romelu Lukaku to Napoli. They are hoping to bring down Napoli's price tag of the Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) transfer target as Lukaku is valued at around £30 million now.

So far, the Chelsea-linked attacker has found the back of the net 76 times and laid out 18 assists in 133 overall appearances for Napoli.
