"Follows certain behaviours during and after the Coppa Italia final" - Juventus sack Massimiliano Allegri, reveal reason for sacking

Juventus have terminated the contract of boss Massimiliano Allegri due to his conduct that was deemed 'incompatible' with the club's values. The Italian was at the Juve helm since the summer of 2021.

Allegri led the Bianconeri to a 1-0 victory in the Coppa Italia final against Atalanta, with striker Dusan Vlahovic scoring the game's only goal. They have also fared decently in the league, but a run of five straight draws keeps them fourth in the Serie A standings, with fifth-placed Atalanta four points behind but with a game in hand.

However, Allegri has been relieved of his duties with immediate effect following the boss' behaviour that was considered inappropriate by the club without delving into details. The Juve statement reads:

"Juventus announces that it has relieved Massimiliano Allegri of his position as head coach of the men's first team. The exoneration follows certain behaviours during and after the Coppa Italia final that the club deemed incompatible with the values of Juventus and the behaviour that those who represent it should have.
"It ends a period of collaboration, which began in 2014, restarted in 2021 and ended, after the previous three seasons together, with the Italian Cup final. The club wishes Massimiliano Allegri good luck in his future endeavours.

Following their cup success, Juve close their season with three remaining league games, but Allegri won't be in charge.

Massimiliano Allegri is one of the most successful managers in Juventus history, especially since the turn of the century.

In his first spell between 2014 and 2019, Allegri managed the club in 271 games across competitions, winning 191 games and losing only 39, a run that yielded five straight Serie A titles and two UEFA Champions League finals.

After he was unexpectedly let go in the summer of 2021, Allegri returned to the Juve helm two years later but has largely failed to replicate his earlier success. In 149 games across competitions since then, the Italian has won 80 games and lost 34, but Juve failed to return to the Serie A summit.

Nevertheless, he delivered the club's seventh Coppa Italia title and first in four years, but his second stint has come to an end.
