“Give him miss pen d’Or”, “Ghost of Brazil” - Fans mock Real Madrid star Vinicius Jr after he misses penalty and rebound attempt for Brazil

Fans have slammed Real Madrid superstar Vinicius Junior on social media after he was guilty of missing a penalty and the subsequent rebound during Brazil's 1-1 draw against Venezuela. The two sides locked horns in Round 11 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers at the Estadio Monumental de Maturin on Thursday, November 14.

Barcelona's Raphinha gave the visitors the lead in the 43rd minute with an excellent free-kick from distance. However, the Selecao were left stunned just one minute after the break when Telasco Segovia leveled the scores with an unstoppable effort from the edge of the box.

Vinicius had a golden opportunity to hand Brazil the lead in the 62nd minute after winning his side a penalty. Unfortunately, the Real Madrid winger's initial shot was well saved, before he fired the rebound well off-target.
