“God is making a way” - Barcelona youngster posts cryptic message amid reports of Chelsea transfer
Barcelona youngster Marc Guiu has posted a cryptic message amid reports that he is about to join Chelsea. The La Masia graduate reportedly has a low release clause of €6 million and the west London club is keen to bring him in to bolster their squad.
The 18-year-old is a highly-rated talent with two goals in seven senior games for Blaugrana. The young striker also has a year left on his current deal. However, he hasn't agreed upon an extension with the Catalan club, which would've seen him extend his stay and increase his release clause (via ESPN).
Amid the uncertainty surrounding his future, the Spanish youngster put up a cryptic message on his Instagram story that read:
"God is making a way. Isaiah 43:19"
The youngster eventually found game time hard to come by last season following the arrival of Vitor Roque. He will be expected to slot into the west London team immediately and offer cover and competition for Nicholas Jackson.
Guiu will be keen to begin the new chapter of his career either at Chelsea or with Barcelona, with the transfer or his new deal soon to be made public.
Former Barcelona star hails new Chelsea signing
Neymar, fondly remembered for his time with Barcelona, recently hailed Chelsea's new signing Willian Estevao as a 'genius'. The Brazilian was part of one of the deadliest attacking trios in football alongside Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez for the Catalan side.
The Blaugrana favorite joined as a highly acclaimed young player and believes Estevao is of similar stock. The youngster played for Palmerias alongside the highly-rated Endrick and goes to Europe in the same summer as the Real Madrid-bound star.
Neymar is confident that the youngster will be a success, telling the media (via Fotmob):
"I think Estevao is the big talent that is coming in Brazilian football. I think he will be a genius."
The young Brazilian will hope he can be as good as Neymar was at Barcelona with Chelsea. He joys the conveyor belt of talent leaving South America to join the west London side. Deivid Washington, Andrey Santos, and Angelo Gabriel have made the move before him in recent years.
Neymar, meanwhile, played 186 games for the Catalan giants, scoring 105 goals and assisting 76 times. He then joined Paris Saint-Germain in 2017 for a world record fee of €222 million. He recently left the Paris-based club with an impressive record of 118 goals and 77 assists from 173 games.
