“Golazo my brother” - Vinicius Jr congratulates Real Madrid star after goal during international break

Vinicius Jr hailed his Real Madrid teammate Eduardo Camavinga after the latter scored in France's UEFA Nations League victory over Israel on Thursday, October 10. Les Bleus secured a 4-1 victory over their counterparts on Matchday 3.

Making his return to the national team after an injury at the start of the season, the Real Madrid midfielder gave his side the lead after just six minutes. His left-footed shot from outside the box was poorly handled by the Israeli goalkeeper who parried the ball over the goal line.

Israel equalized through Omri Gandelman (24'), but goals from Christopher Nkunku (28'), Matteo Guendouzi (87'), and Bradley Barcola (89') secured victory for the 2018 World Cup champions who were without captain Kylian Mbappe.

Camavinga was hyped to score his first international goal in four years and took to Instagram to celebrate his side's victory. His post got lots of reactions from fans and teammates including Vinicius Jr, who commented:

"Golazo my brother."

The victory sees France maintain second position in Group A2 of the Nations League. After losing their first game to Italy (3-1), Didier Deschamps' side have now recorded back-to-back wins against Belgium (2-0) and Israel.

Les Bleus have six points from three games, one point behind Italy who lead the group with seven points. They will next face Belgium in a return leg fixture on Monday, October 14.

Brazil secure narrow 2-1 victory despite Real Madrid star's absence

Brazil secured a 2-1 victory over Chile in the ongoing 2026 CONMEBOL FIFA World Cup qualifiers despite not having the services of Real Madrid superstar Vinicius Jr.

The Los Blancos forward was ruled of Brazil's October World Cup qualifiers after picking up a knock in Madrid's 2-0 win over Villarreal on Saturday, October 5. Vinicius was substituted in the 78th minute after a collision with Sergi Cardona and was later diagnosed with a cervical injury.

Late goals in either half from Igor Jesus (45+1') and Luiz Henrique (89') canceled out an early Eduardo Vargas goal (2') for Chile, securing maximum points for Brazil.

The Real Madrid duo of Rodrygo and Endrick were part of Brazil's matchday squad. The former played the entire clash, while the latter came on as a 76th-minute substitute.
