"Good to see you my friend" - Real Madrid legend Toni Kroos makes social media post as he links up with Sergio Ramos
Former Real Madrid star Toni Kroos shared pictures on social media after meeting ex-teammate Sergio Ramos on August 30.
The first photo features the two Los Blancos legends posing next to each other. In the second photo, Toni Kroos is spotted holding Ramos' Spain jersey while the latter is holding Kroos' No. 8 Germany shirt.
Alongside the photos, Kroos wrote (via X/@ToniKroos):
"Good to see you my friend."
Ramos also shared the same images on his Instagram, alongside more photos featuring the two legends signing each other's international shirts and shoes. The defender wrote:
"Any legends collection just wouldn’t be complete without one of the very greats, my bro @toni.kr8s. As a player, a 10. As a person, an 11. Thanks, brother. ¡Siempre en mi equipo!"
Sergio Ramos and Toni Kroos played together at Real Madrid from 2014 to 2021. They shared the pitch together in 223 matches with 14 joint-goal contributions. Together, the duo won three UEFA Champions League titles, two La Ligas, and two Supercopa de Espanas, among other trophies.
Both players are widely considered two of Real Madrid's greatest legends of all time. In 671 appearances between 2005 to 2021, Sergio Ramos scored 101 goals for Los Blancos, alongside 40 assists. Meanwhile, Kroos made 465 appearances as a Real Madrid player with 28 goals and 99 assists to his name.
Kroos announced his retirement from professional football in July 2024 after winning the UEFA Champions League and La Liga with Los Blancos. His last game was in the Euros with Germany where they lost to Spain in the quarterfinal. Meanwhile, Ramos left Los Blancos to join Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in 2021, before moving to Sevilla in 2023. The 38-year-old is currently a free agent.
Ex-Real Madrid star Sergio Ramos sent message to Toni Kroos after he announced his retirement
After Toni Kroos announced his retirement from professional football, Sergio Ramos took to social media to share a heartfelt message for his former teammate and friend. He wrote (via Instagram):
"To my bro Antonio, It's been a joy to share so many special moments and successes with such a unique player and exceptional person, one of the best. Always on my team, Antonio. Enjoy your new life ahead and the memories of a wonderful career which still has a few chapters left."
Kroos' last game as a professional footballer was the Euro 2024 quarter-final against Spain, where Germany lost 2-1 to La Roja. Meanwhile, Ramos announced his retirement from international football back in 2023 after he was not called up for the 2020 Euros and the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
