Hansi Flick wants Barcelona to sign Real Madrid target - Reports

Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has issued a directive to the club to try and beat rivals Real Madrid to the signature of Alphonso Davies from Bayern Munich. The Canadian left-back is set to become a free agent once his contract with the Bundesliga giants expires at the end of the 2024-25 season.

The name of Alphonso Davies has been on the lips of many at Real Madrid since the end of the 2023-24 season, as they weighed up a transfer. The 24-year-old turned down multiple contract offers, appearing to be ready to run down his contract with Bayern Munich.

Barcelona have begun the 2024-25 season in excellent form, leading the way in LaLiga with a six-point cushion over Real Madrid, who they thrashed 4-0 in last month's El Clasico. According to El Nacional, Flick wants his side to beat Los Blancos to Davies, a player with whom he is very familiar.

Alphonso Davies played arguably his best football with Hansi Flick as his manager at Bayern Munich, with the duo winning the UEFA Champions League in 2020. The German tactician is keen on a reunion, and he has asked Deco to try to sign the Canada international.

Real Madrid have an edge in the pursuit of Davies, seeing as they have established contact with the Bayern Munich man for a number of months. They will, however, be wary of losing out on Davies as they did with Leny Yoro in the summer, and will be keen to wrap up a deal for him.

Alphonso Davies will be eligible to sign a pre-contract agreement in January to join another side at the end of the 2024-25 season. Barcelona want him to provide competition for Alejandro Balde, and his combination of pace, defensive awareness, and attacking quality has made him their preferred target.

Premier League outfit joins Real Madrid, Barcelona in pursuit of Bundesliga star - Reports

Premier League side Chelsea are prepared to rival Real Madrid and Barcelona for the signature of Bayer Leverkusen defender Jonathan Tah, as per CaughtOffside (via Football Espana). The German defender is set to be available as a free agent once his contract expires at the BayArena at the end of the 2024-25 season after he declined a contract extension offer.

Tah has been on the radar of Spain's leading sides in recent months, with both sides considering moving for the soon-to-be free agent in January. They will look to get him to sign a pre-contract agreement at the New Year, but the 28-year-old has another option now.

Chelsea have the youngest-ever squad in the Premier League this season, and they may look to build on an encouraging start to the campaign by signing a couple of experienced stars. The Blues are primed to make a move to sign Tah, and it remains to be seen if the Germany international ends up at Stamford Bridge.
