"Has the potential to be one of the best players in the world" - Didi Hamann makes bold claim about Arsenal star

Didi Hamann has said that Arsenal star Kai Havertz has the potential to become one of the best players in the world. Hamann reckons Havertz can produce an element of surprise that leaves fans stunned.

Hamann said that if Havertz polishes up certain aspects of his game, he has the potential to be a world-beater. Hence, the former Liverpool superstar thinks Havertz should be given the space and peace to flourish at his own pace. He said (via Chris Wheatly on X):

"I think Kai Havertz definitely has the potential to be one of the best players in the world if he can tidy up parts of his game. He's capable of producing something where everybody goes, wow. That's why you've got to give him a bit of leeway and peace."

Havertz's talent is well-known since his days as an up-and-comer at Bayer Leverkusen.

He also came up with important moments during his Chelsea stint, including scoring the winner in the 2020-21 UEFA Champions League final. Havertz, though, suffered a notable dip in form in the later stages of his Chelsea career.

The German joined Arsenal in the summer of 2023 for a reported £65 million. After a slow start at north London, Havertz improved and finished the season with 14 goals and seven assists in 51 games across competitions.

He has been making a good impression at the ongoing Euro 2024 in Germany. Havertz has scored twice and provided one assist in four appearances for Die Mannshchaft, propelling them to a quarter-final with Spain.

Arsenal staff were impressed with two key traits of Kai Havertz

As per The Athletic, Arsenal's staff were impressed with Kai Havertz's defensive contributions and movement. Havertz has always been known for being a slick player who plays the game with his head as well as feet.

However, when the team needed it, Havertz put in the dirty yards, impressing the Gunners' staff. As for Havertz's movement, he has the football IQ to find himself in pockets of space to create chances and score himself as well.

Havertz's recent form is a promising sign. The player has always had the potential, and under a manager like Mikel Arteta, the German might reach the ceiling at Arsenal, which he has often been tipped to.
