“He should be banned”, “Out of my club” - Fans react as Kylian Mbappe reportedly goes clubbing in Sweden while nursing injury
Fans have slammed Kylian Mbappe online after he was reportedly spotted clubbing in Sweden while nursing an injury. The Real Madrid forward was left out of France’s squad for their October UEFA Nations League clashes against Israel and Belgium due to the injury.
Mbappe picked up a knock in Real Madrid 3-2 league victory over Deportivo Alaves on September 24 and was expected to be out for three weeks. However, he made a surprise return to Los Blancos' squad, featuring in games versus Lille and Villarreal in the Champions League and LaLiga respectively.
The former Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) star was then left out of France’s squad for the international break by coach Didier Deschamps as a precautionary procedure.
According to a post by @Football_Tweet on X, while his teammates clashed with Israel in the Nations League on October 10, the France captain went out clubbing in Stockholm, Sweden.
Several fans took to X to slam Kylian Mbappe for reportedly going clubbing when he ought to be recovering from his injury.
“He should be banned from football,” one user wrote.
“Out of my club bring in Haaland,” another fan posted.
"I thought he’s injured? Why is he partying?” a fan asked.
Others threw jibes at the France captain for clubbing instead of leading his team on the pitch:
“Mbappe clubbing during a match? Looks like he’s leading the dance floor, not the team! Captain material or party captain?” one fan said.
“He wasn’t so sure of himself! Captain material,” another added.
“Priorities, I guess?” another chimed in.
“Sorry France, but Sweden’s club scene was calling his name louder than the soccer game,” one fan tweeted sarcastically.
