"He feels like they should be playing a lot better" - Pundit claims Arsenal star was 'furious with his teammates' in loss to Nottingham Forest

Former Chelsea and Everton player Pat Nevin made note of Jorginho's frustrations in Arsenal's defeat to Nottingham Forest.

Taiwo Awoniyi's first-half goal saw Arsenal lose 1-0 to the Reds on Saturday, May 20. This was the Gunners' second consecutive defeat after they were outclassed by Brighton & Hove Albion a few days ago.

The defeat to Forest also sealed Manchester City's Premier League title, the Cityzens' third league title in a row.

After the match, Scotsman Nevin, who now works as a football pundit, noted that Jorginho was left ‘furious’ with his teammates and ‘upset’ at their lack of quality. The midfielder is a relatively new name in the squad, having joined them in January in a £12 million transfer from London rivals Chelsea.

Having won several big trophies in his career (Euro 2020 with Italy and Champions League with Chelsea), he expected more from his Arsenal teammates. They were after all fighting hard to stay in the title race.

Speaking about the 31-year-old, Nevin told BBC Sport (via HITC):

“Jorgingo is furious with his teammates. He is getting so upset with his teammates. He feels like they should be playing a lot better. Despite being a relatively new player [to the group] he is still trying to drive standards and gee up his teammates.”

Piers Morgan hits out at Arsenal stars for bottling Premier League title

Famed Arsenal supporter Piers Morgan has expressed his disappointment at the team's failure to win the Premier League title this season. He criticized the club's recent performances and called out the players for botching their run for the league title.

Arsenal have been on a dismal run recently. They have taken only nine points (out of a potential 24 points) in their last eight games. Manchester City, on the other hand, are on a 11-game victory streak.

Morgan took to social media to express his frustrations. He tweeted:

“Aaron Ramsdale, who I love as a player with a proper winner’s mentality, insists it’s unfair to say Arsenal have bottled the League. But what else do we call what’s happened in the past few weeks? This is another dire display against a less talented team who just want it more.”

Arsenal, who last won the Premier League title in 2022-23, will now have to wait for another year to end their title drought.
