“He was so good and he’s good also now” - Amad Diallo names best player he ever played with at Manchester United
Manchester United youngster Amad Diallo has named the best player he has played with at the club. The talented winger has picked Marcus Rashford as the player who has impressed him the most.
Amad Diallo was signed by the Red Devils as a 19-year-old in 2021 from Serie A club Atalanta worth a fee of €25 million, going up to €40 million including add-ons. Since signing for the club, he has had loan spells at Rangers and Sunderland before being integrated into the first XI by manager Erik ten Hag.
This season, the 22-year-old winger has made 10 appearances across all competitions, starting six of those. He has been one of the shining lights in a disappointing campaign so far for the club, impressing with his pace and directness.
Diallo has played with stars such as Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro since signing for Manchester United over three seasons ago. Speaking to JD Football on TikTok, Diallo named the best player he has played with during his stint at the club.
When asked who has been his most talented teammate, Diallo said (via TBRFootball):
"Oh this is difficult. There are a lot of quality players in the team, but when I came here the player I was most impressed by was Rashy. He was quick, he was strong and I want to say Rashy because he was so good and he’s good also now."
Diallo is preferred ahead of former Ajax winger Antony on the right wing by Ten Hag. Rashford, who primarily plays on the left wing, is also an option for the right alongside talented Argentine Alejandro Garnacho.
"There is something not right" - Gary Neville on Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford
Marcus Rashford is currently undergoing a lean spell at his boyhood club, who he joined at age seven. The England international, who is on wages of £300,000-a-week, has scored just once for Manchester United in the Premier League this season.
Rashford was in great touch for the club in the 2022-23 season, bagging in 17 goals, but has since then been relatively poor.
Former Manchester United star Gary Neville has expressed his concern over Rashford's form. He spoke about the 26-year-old's performances in Sky Bet's Stick to Football podcast.
"Marcus Rashford, I don’t know how to say this, but there is something not right," Neville admitted.
"He’s not right. And it’s not just a case of he’s not playing football well. He doesn’t look happy. And I’m looking at him thinking I actually am worried about him," he added.
Diallo's words will be music to the ears of Rashford as he aims to get back to his best for club and country.
