“He isn’t human”, “Currently the best player in the world” - Fans salute Barcelona star after shining in 5-1 win against Villarreal

Barcelona fans heaped praises on Lamine Yamal after his yet another sensational performance during La Blaugrana's 5-1 win over Villarreal in LaLiga on Sunday, September 22. The 17-year-old gave an incredible assist to Raphinha for the club's fifth and final goal of the game.

Barcelona were leading 4-1 at El Madrigal when Yamal found Raphinha with an inch-perfect curling through-ball from the outside of his foot in the 83rd minute. The Brazilian did justice to the piece of magic, depositing the ball inside the home team's net to end the match 5-1 for the visitors.

Apart from his assist, Lamine Yamal was a menace on the right flank throughout the game. He was consistently twisting and turning defenders and always threatening a killer through ball into the penalty area. The Spaniard also created three big chances and made three key passes in the game.

Fans were in awe of Yamal's gameplay and hailed him as one of the best players in the world due to his consistently good performances for Barcelona. One Culer wrote on X:

"Lamine isn’t human."
"A 17-year-old is casually becoming the best player in the world and we are all acting like it's normal.🤨🤨🤨," a Culer wrote.
"Lamine for me is the best player on the pitch in a game where he didn't score a single goal of those 5 we scored. This kid is just ridiculous," another user reacted.
"Lamine Yamal is not normal, I don't even know what to say 😭," a fan exclaimed.
"Show me a better player than Lamine Yamal and I will deactivate," a fan mentioned.

Fans continued to applaud the La Masia graduate for his exceptional performance, writing:

"Lamine Yamal is currently the best player in the world, there is no more debate!"
"Lamine Yamal getting kicked left right and centre, doesn’t say a word and gets on with it. Remind you of someone?," a netizen wrote, presumably referring to Lionel Messi.
"Look, Hansi, this has been nice and all, but I really really really don't want to see Lamine anywhere near the pitch on Wednesday against Getafe. Let the child rest a bit," another individual wrote.
"Lamine Yamal is generational," a Culer chimed in.
"6 games in, Lamine Yamal has a goal contribution in EVERY LaLiga game he’s played — 3 goals and five assists. I’m lost for words. This is so far from normal, it’s absurd. Almost want to laugh 😂," a person opined.

In seven appearances for Barcelona across competitions, Yamal scored four goals and bagged five assists so far this season. The youngster has been one of the most influential players for club and country in recent times.

"We did very well" - Barcelona coach Hansi Flick made feelings clear after 5-1 win over Villarreal in LaLiga

In the post-match press conference, Barcelona coach Hansi Flick mentioned he's happy with the team after their massive 5-1 win over Villarreal. He said (via Barca Blaugranes):

"We won 1-5 at Villarreal. It was a fantastic match between the two teams. Very attractive, back and forth. I congratulate my team, they did very well. Villarreal had clear chances. Pressing the opponent high up is part of our style. We have to be compact. We did very well, it is a risk but we have been successful so far in the League."

Speaking of Barcelona's mentality and mindset, the German coach added:

"I’m proud of how the team overcomes adversity. Villarreal is a team that never gives up and we have continued to look for more goals. And that’s what I want, to keep pressing where the ball is, for the 90 or 94 minutes that the match lasts."

The coach also addressed goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen's serious knee injury. He said that he can only talk about replacing him after understanding the extent of his injury. The German goalkeeper could potentially be out for months.
