"He has so much energy, and he’s very busy" - Former Manchester United star wants Barcelona target to join Red Devils
Former Manchester United striker Louis Saha has urged his former club to sign RB Leipzig striker Dani Olmo, a Barcelona target. The 26-year-old played a key role in Spain's Euro 2024 triumph.
Olmo scored three times and assisted twice in six games as La Roja beat England 2-1 to become the first four-time European Championship winner. All but one of his goal contributions came in the knockouts.
Although he's coming off an injury-plagued 2023-24 season with Leipzig - eight goals and five assists in 25 games across competitions - Olmo's stock remains high owing to his Euro 2024 exploits.
Saha reckons Olmo would be a great fit at United, saying on Paddy Power (as per DAZN):
“I want to see Dani Olmo at Manchester United. He has so much energy, and he’s very busy. Yes, he’s very creative, but he’s courageous too.
“He always tries new things, and it’s really hard to mark someone like him. When you have his mobility, like Bruno Fernandes already does, oh my God it would be so hard for the opposition to contain those players.:
He concluded:
“Manchester United would definitely be a good team for him because he is what they need.
"I was really impressed by his performances at Euro 2024 and what he did for Spain after Pedri’s injury was incredible. So if there was a team in the Premier League for him, I’d say Manchester United all day.”
Olmo is contracted with Leipzig till 2027, so a deal might not be cheap.
