"He is next level" - Ex-Feyenoord star heaps praise on Arne Slot following his brilliant start to life at Liverpool

Former Feyenoord star Jordy Wehrmann has heaped praise on Liverpool manager Arne Slot following his brilliant start to life at Anfield. The Dutch tactician has taken the Premier League by storm this season, much to the delight of his countryman.

Arne Slot was appointed Liverpool's manager in the summer after Jurgen Klopp bid farewell to Merseyside at the end of last season. There were initially some doubts about his appointment but the tactician has managed to crush them all with his team's performances.

The Reds currently sit atop both the Premier League and the Champions League table, establishing themselves as the top-performing team in Europe. Following Slot's brilliant start to life at Anfield, Jordy Wehrmann heaped praise on the Dutchman, saying (via Inside Futbol):

"He [Slot] is next level. His teams have proven that too. When you saw the intensity with which they play football, how they put pressure, how many people are running.”
"That was often a point of criticism at Feyenoord. There were too few people running. It was too static, too flat. Then he came, and that became the new normal,” Wehrmann added.

Since taking charge of Liverpool in the summer, Arne Slot has overseen 25 games across all competitions, bagging 21 victories, three draws and one defeat. Under the Dutchman's watch, the Merseysiders have also bagged an incredible 60 goals across all fronts and conceded 21.

What next for Arne Slot's Liverpool?

Liverpool are currently on a wave of high-profile fixtures. After securing an emphatic 6-3 win over Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League on Sunday, December 22, they will face Leicester City at Anfield in their next league game on Thursday, December 26.

Following that, they'll take on West Ham United at the London Stadium on December 29 before locking horns with Manchester United at Anfield on January 5. Three days later, they will face Tottenham once again; this time, in the first leg of their EFL Cup semi-final clash at White Hart Lane.

Arne Slot's men have shown no signs of slowing down. They have proven that they mean business with their performances so far. If they continue like this, the Dutchman could join a distinguished list of managers to win the Premier League in their first season.
