“He paid for my dinner” - Neymar spotted enjoying time with Cristiano Ronaldo’s ex-teammate after he joins new club

Neymar was spotted partying with Cristiano Ronaldo's former Al-Nassr teammate Alex Telles. The Al-Hilal attacker, who is still recovering from injury, posted a video of himself along with the former Manchester United left-back on Instagram.

Telles came to the Riyadh-based side from the Red Devils in the summer of 2023 and called an end to his stay in Saudi Arabia a year later.

His contract with Al-Nassr was terminated mutually despite him featuring heavily for the club in the 2023-24 campaign, as per The Sun (via GOAL). Last season, the Brazilian defender made 34 appearances across competitions, bagging three goals and five assists.

While posting the clip on his Instagram account, the ex-Paris Saint-Germain forward wrote:

It isn't surprising to see Telles spending time with Neymar, with the pair playing together for the Brazil national team. Overall, the duo have shared the pitch on four occasions for Brazil across competitions without managing a joint goal contribution.

Now, the former FC Porto star has joined Brazilian outfit Botafogo on a two-year contract.

The 31-year-old's career has unfortunately taken a massive downturn since his move to Old Trafford in the summer of 2020. He never managed to establish his position in the Red Devils' first team and was also loaned out to Sevilla during his three-year stay.

The defender ended up making 50 appearances across competitions for Manchester United, bagging a goal and seven assists.

Al-Hilal superstar Neymar was asked to pick between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo during an interview in 2024. Without hesitating, the 32-year-old attacker picked Messi, his former Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) teammate.

The pair played 206 matches across competitions while representing the aforementioned sides, bagging 67 joint goal contributions in the process. When asked to choose between the two, the Brazilian said (via SPORTbible):

"Messi."

Messi made 778 appearances across competitions for Barcelona, bagging 672 goals and 303 assists. During his time at Camp Nou, the 2022 World Cup winner won 10 La Liga titles and three UEFA Champions League trophies, among other honors.

Messi currently represents Inter Miami in the MLS. He arrived in the USA after his contract at PSG expired in the summer of 2023.
