"He's the best manager in the world and probably the best manager that's ever existed on Earth” - Manchester City superstar hails Pep Guardiola
Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has hailed Pep Guardiola for his outstanding achievements at the club and his contributions to the sport. Guardiola recently signed a two-year contract extension at the Etihad.
In an interview with Sky Sports Premier League, Haaland said (via City Xtra):
"He's the best manager in the world and probably the best manager that's ever existed on Earth. I expected lots of things from him, and he's been delivering every single second. I'm super happy and you can also see that when I play as well."
"He also wants to put perfection on it, of course, perfection doesn't exist. Also, the hungriness, how much he wants to develop players, how much to develop me, how much he wants to win football games. In the end, it's about winning trophies. That's the most important thing."
Haaland has been outstanding since joining City in July 2022, and his attacking brilliance has been evident in the 2024-25 campaign as well. The Norwegian striker has scored 15 goals in 16 games across all competitions this season.
Meanwhile, Guardiola has transformed Manchester City into one of the best teams in Europe since taking charge of the club in 2016. Under his stewardship, City have lifted six Premier League titles, one UEFA Champions League title, and several domestic trophies.
In the ongoing campaign, City are ranked second in the Premier League standings, having registered 23 points from 11 games. In the UCL, they are ranked 10th, having registered seven points from four games so far.
Guardiola’s side will be looking to bounce back after registering four defeats in their last four games. They will take on Tottenham Hotspur in the league on Saturday, November 23, at the Etihad Stadium.
