"He's a curse to this club", "IQ is literally 0" - Fans unhappy with Manchester United star's performance in 1-1 FC Twente draw
Manchester United fans on X have criticized Bruno Fernandes for his underwhelming performance in their 1-1 draw against FC Twente in the UEFA Europa League. The Red Devils were held to their second consecutive draw across competitions at Old Trafford on Wednesday, September 25.
Christian Eriksen gave Manchester United the perfect start in the 35th minute with a brilliant curler into the top corner from just inside the box. Unfortunately for the hosts, Eriksen lost possession in the 68th minute, which led to Sam Lammers silencing Old Trafford with a good finish past Andre Onana. Harry Maguire had a massive chance to win the game late on, but Twente held on to earn a point.
Manchester United skipper Bruno Fernandes played all 90 games but was unable to make an impact. The 30-year-old lost possession 19 times, lost six duels, and completed 39 out of 52 passes with an accuracy of 75 percent. While he created one chance, he only managed one shot on target from three attempts.
One fan reacted by posting:
"Bruno Fernandes is a disgrace !! 94th moon and he’s taking a shot from 40 yards out instead of passing ffs he’s a curse to this club."
Another tweeted:
"Bruno Fernandes football IQ is literally zero."

"At this point the only people not sick of Bruno Fernandes are people who only watch MOTD and highlights, because he is horrific over 90 minutes every game with sporadic moments of quality that save him," one fan posted
Erik ten Hag's poor form in Europe comes to light as Manchester United held to 1-1 draw against FC Twente
Erik ten Hag's former club, FC Twente, returned to haunt him as the Eredivisie outfit held Manchester United to a shock 1-1 draw at Old Trafford in the first round of the Europa League. The Red Devils are 10th in the standings with one point, two points behind leaders Lazio.
As reported by Fabrizio Romano, the Red Devils have now just won one out of their last nine games in Europe under Ten Hag (UEFA Champions League and Europa League). They have lost five games, drawn three, and won just one against Copenhagen last season.
Manchester United will be hoping to return to winning ways in their next fixture against Tottenham Hotspur in their PL clash on Sunday, September 29.
