"He's explosive, not shy" - Wes Brown names 'sharpest' Manchester United player during pre-season

Former Manchester United defender Wes Brown claimed Amad Diallo was the sharpest Red Devils player during the preseason. The Englishman believes that the Ivorian winger deserves a chance to start games when the new campaign kicks off.

Amad Diallo was a lively presence for Manchester United during their preseason games, tormenting opposition defenses with his brilliant combination of skills on the right flank. The 22-year-old scored in the 3-2 victory over Real Betis as well as in the 2-0 win against Rangers.

The winger has received plenty of plaudits for his performances and Wes Brown couldn't help but join his praise singers. Speaking to Stretford Paddock on YouTube, the former Manchester United defender made an interesting declaration about the winger. He said:

“He’s explosive, he’s not shy, he’s probably looked the sharpest player. He’ll be looking for himself to keep training well and play well when he does play, because he’ll be looking at a few starts. If you’re playing well I think you deserve a chance.”

Brown also had positive things to say about Manchester United's recent signing Leny Yoro who featured against Rangers and Arsenal before suffering an injury setback.

“I like his energy, he’s quick, he’s young, he’s athletic, I think that’s everything we need," he said about the former Ligue 1 star.
“We know Martinez, what he can do, it’s a shame we haven’t got to see that [Yoro and Martinez together] at this time, but that’s what you need in the first team, athletic, young players. He’s confident, played in the first team at Lille, hopefully he fits in straight away,” he further added.

United ended their preseason with a record of two victories and three defeats from five games. They scored five goals and conceded nine in those games.

What next for Manchester United?

After concluding their preseason with a disappointing 3-0 loss to Liverpool, Manchester United will now look to bounce back as the new season kicks off this weekend.

Up next, they will go head-to-head with rivals Manchester City in the Community Shield on Saturday (August 10) at Wembley Stadium. They'll then play their opening game of the new Premier League season versus Fulham at Old Trafford on August 16.

Following that, the Red Devils will lock horns with Brighton before going head to head with Liverpool and Southampton in their next two league outings.
