"He's going to try to win, we're going to try to win as well" - Fulham boss Marco Silva makes feelings clear on facing Chelsea star

Fulham manager Marco Silva lauded Chelsea defender Tosin Adarabioyo ahead of the two London sides' Premier League clash on Thursday, December 26. Adarabioyo joined the Stamford Bridge outfit from Fulham in July 2024 on a free transfer.

The English defender played for the Cottagers between 2020 and 2024, making 132 appearances across competitions, and bagging five goals and two assists. Since joining Chelsea, Tosin Adarabioyo has made 14 appearances and has also scored one goal.

Talking about his former player in a pre-match press conference, Marco Silva lauded Adarabioyo for his performance for the Blues. Ahead of the Chelsea-Fulham game, Silva said (via BeanymanSports2):

"He was so important in three seasons with us. I think he did improve really and it's nice to see him. It's going to be nice to see him there of course during the game, he's going to try to win, we're going to try to win as well."

Marco Silva added:

"But (he) was a professional, a good lad, always open to learn and a quality player is the reason why he's playing for Chelsea and doing so well, that's it, it's going to be a good thing."

The 27-year-old wasn't initially a first-choice defender under Enzo Maresca, but has started his side's last two Premier League matches. The Blues are currently second in the league table with 35 points in 17 matches, four points behind leaders Liverpool, who also have a game in hand.

Chelsea have reportedly suffered a major blow in their pursuit of RB Leipzig forward Benjamin Sesko. As per Fabrizio Romano (via GIVEMESPORT), Sesko is unlikely to leave the Bundesliga side in the January transfer window.

The Slovenian forward's departure is not a topic of discussion for Leipzig as he signed a six-year deal with the club earlier this year. Multiple top European clubs such as Chelsea and Arsenal among others have been linked with the 21-year-old star.

However, he's unlikely to leave the side in January. Sesko joined RB Leipzig in July 2023 from RB Salzburg. Since then, he has made 65 appearances for Marco Rose's side, bagging 29 goals and five assists across all competitions.
