"He's got a log" – Paul Parker blasts Manchester United star for being one-footed

Ex-Manchester United defender Paul Parker has hit out at Antony for his sub-par performances and his one-footedness for the Red Devils.

During a chat with MyBettingSites.co.uk, Parker was queried to share his thoughts on Antony's stint at the Old Trafford outfit. He responded:

"I was hoping last season after his first season, that he was going to show something. I was hoping that with a full pre-season, his second season in Manchester would serve a purpose. It only served a purpose to let everyone know that it's a fact and it's written in stone that he's not very good. I look at his left foot, and normally, you say people have got a wand as a left foot, he's got a log."

Last campaign, Antony was deployed as a left-back during Manchester United's 4-3 FA Cup quarter-final win against Liverpool at Old Trafford.

Opining on the 24-year-old attacker's cameo in the clash, Parker said:

"He came on against Liverpool, and he was meant to come in and go at left-back and started sulking. Any manager of my time and I'd say around the 2000's and 2010's, especially a British manager, you would never have complained. You'd maybe pull a face internally within yourself, and then you might talk about it after."

Suggesting that the Manchester United star is selfish, Parker added:

"But the last thing you would go out there is to make a rumpus and affect your teammates, because his teammates would have been worrying what someone like him would do next if they're unhappy. At the moment in time, the team is not the first mind on quite a few of these players. It's more themselves."

So far, Antony has scored just 11 goals and recorded five assists in 82 games for United since arriving in a potential £86 million deal in 2022.

Napoli keen to sign Manchester United star

According to The Athletic, Napoli are interested in signing Manchester United star Scott McTominay this summer. They are expected to face competition from Fulham, Everton, Galatasaray, and Fenerbahce too.

McTominay, who is allegedly valued at £25 million, has a contract until June 2025 at the Old Trafford side. He has bagged 29 goals and laid out eight assists in 253 games across competitions for the Red Devils.

Should the Manchester United midfielder join Antonio Conte's side, he could prove to be a shrewd signing. He would offer good competition for places to Stanislav Lobotka and Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa.
