"He’s one of the best players in history" - Premier League star names PSG's Lionel Messi as the best player he's ever worked with

Premier League forward Adama Traore named Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) superstar Lionel Messi as the best player that he has ever worked with.

Traore grew up in the academies of La Masia and spent a loan spell at Barcelona during the club. He spent time with Messi during his La Masia days. Speaking to GOAL, the Spaniard named the Argentine as the most talented player whom he has ever worked with. Traore said:

“Lionel Messi. For me he’s one of the best players in history. A part of being talented is he likes to work, work hard, the touch he has, the quick feet, the control and vision on the pitch. Every ball comes to his feet and he never missed, that was impressive.”

The PSG forward is widely regarded as one of the greatest players to ever grace the beautiful game. He has won seven Ballons d'Or and also led Argentina to the 2022 FIFA World Cup trophy, winning the Golden Ball. He has scored over 800 goals for club and country, winning numerous trophies over the years.

Hence, it shouldn't come as a surprise that Traore has been left in awe of the 35-year-old.

Lionel Messi could leave PSG in the summer

Lionel Messi is currently in the final months of his contract with PSG as it expires this summer. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has previously reported that the Argentine ace would leave the club in the summer.

Messi has been heavily linked with a return to Barcelona. The Argentine has also been offered a £320 million deal by Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal (via ESPN).

Hence, Messi could be on the move. The Argentine joined the Parisian club in the summer of 2021 after Barca were unable to renew his contract due to La Liga's wage cap rules. He has since made 72 appearances for the French club, scoring 31 goals and providing 33 assists.

Messi has won one Ligue 1 title so far and looks set to win another this year. He has made 38 appearances for the French side this season, scoring 20 goals and providing 19 assists.
