"He's perfect for this club" - Manchester United star heaps praises on Ruben Amorim, explains what to expect from the new head coach
Diogo Dalot has welcomed the appointment of Ruben Amorim at Manchester United. He believes that the Portuguese manager is a perfect match for the Red Devils and the league suits him.
Dalot said on Sky Sports that Manchester United players are ready to help Amorim when he comes to the club. He added that the players are excited to be working under the new coach and said:
"He's obviously a fantastic coach, young mentality but he knows what he wants. Very demanding, that's what I can expect and I think that's a perfect match for a club like this. The standards are really high. I hope it can be a really good match and I wish for us to win together."
"The Premier League really suits people from Portugal. It's been all over the years that Portuguese managers and players coming to England and being successful, so I really hope it's one more case and I am really excited to start working with him. We are going to be a team. We have to work with each other and we will help him in some ways and I am sure he will help us," he added.
Manchester United sacked Erik ten Hag on Monday (October 28) after a poor start to the season. The Red Devils have agreed to a €11 million deal with Sporting CP for Amorim. However, he will be taking over only on November 11 because of a clause in his contract with the Portuguese club.
Bruno Fernandes delivered verdict on Manchester United's new manager
Bruno Fernandes has already commented on Ruben Amorim and praised the Portuguese manager. He claimed that the young manager was ready for the next step but he hopes Sporting CP keep hold of their manager.
He said via MEN:
"If he really takes the next step – I hope he stays at Sporting – but if he takes the next step, I think all the qualities are there to be able to succeed in English, French, or Spanish football. Obviously, we know that the Premier League is probably the most desired. The qualities [to succeed in England] are there and he has everything to take the next step, in my opinion."
Manchester United face Chelsea this weekend (November 3) at Old Trafford in the Premier League. The first match for the new manager will be against Ipswich Town at Portman Road on November 24.
