"He's doing really good" – Belgium superstar Kevin De Bruyne praises Arsenal star after Euro 2024 clash

Belgium and Manchester City superstar Kevin De Bruyne has showered praise on Arsenal defender Oleksandr Zinchenko after his national side's recent UEFA Euro 2024 contest against Ukraine.

Earlier this Wednesday (June 26), Belgium recorded a 0-0 draw against Ukraine in their last Group E contest of the ongoing Euro 2024. De Bruyne started and ended the tie for his team, while Zinchenko replaced Vitaliy Mykolenko in the 58th minute of the Euro encounter.

Speaking after Belgium's goalless draw in Stuttgart, De Bruyne waxed lyrical about his former Manchester City teammate and opined on his performances for Arsenal. He said (h/t TBR):

"I love Zinna. He is [an] unbelievable guy. I played with him for five years and he's done an incredible job for us at City and then he went to Arsenal and he's doing really good. I think he's one of the leaders of Ukraine, he's a close friend and I wish him all the best."

Zinchenko, who played in three Euro 2024 outings before Ukraine were shown the exit door, joined the Gunners from Manchester City in a potential £32 million move in 2022. The 27-year-old has contributed two goals and four assists in 68 matches for his team so far.

During his time at Manchester City, Zinchenko shared the pitch with De Bruyne 82 times in all competitions and assisted one goal for the latter.

Arsenal star draws interest from number of Italian clubs, confirms acclaimed journalist

In his Daily Briefing column for Caught Offside, journalist Fabrizio Romano offered insight into Jakub Kiwior's future at the Gunners. He wrote:

"Jakub Kiwior has been linked with a possible exit from Arsenal again, and he's always being linked with Italian clubs after his impressive form when he was in Serie A with Spezia. However, it's not something concrete or close so far."

Naming three clubs who are keen to rope in the Pole, Romano added:

"AC Milan, Juventus, [and] Napoli all appreciate Kiwior. They know him well since he was at Spezia but that's it at the moment. Arsenal have still received no formal proposal for Kiwior and he remains a player trusted by Mikel Arteta."

Kiwior, 24, has cemented himself as a versatile squad option for the north London outfit since arriving from Spezia in a potential £21 million deal in January 2023. He has been used as both a centre-back and a left-back by Arteta and has featured in 38 games for his club.

Should the Gunners decide to sell Kiwior this summer, they would still have Kieran Tierney and Oleksandr Zinchenko as options at left-back.
