"He thinks he has lost faith from some fans" - Manchester United star explains why Garnacho didn't celebrate his goal against Leicester

Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes has explained why Alejandro Garnacho failed to celebrate after scoring against Leicester City. The two sides faced off at Old Trafford in the Premier League on Sunday, November 10, with the Red Devils winning 3-0.

Interim manager Ruud van Nistelrooy didn't name Garnacho in the starting XI. The Argentine youngster came off the bench in the 56th minute to replace Marcus Rashfoerd. He went on to put the icing on the cake with a beautiful curler into the top-right corner in the 82nd minute to make the score 3-0.

The 20-year-old is known for pulling out some special celebrations after finding the back of the net. However, despite scoring a beauty against Leicester City, Garnacho did not celebrate.

After the clash, captain Bruno Fernandes explained why Garnacho did not celebrate his goal. He said (via Centre Devils on X):

"[Alejandro] Garnacho scored a banger but didn't celebrate like he should because he thinks he has lost faith of some fans. I told him people will always moan but lots of people like you and enjoy what you do."

Garnacho has come under criticism from some Manchester United fans following his struggles in front of goal this term. He has contributed six goals and four assists in 17 games this season, scoring thrice in the league.

Manchester United are unbeaten across competitions post-Erik ten Hag

The Red Devils seem to have found some balance since Erik ten Hag was sacked on October 28. The Dutch manager was relieved of his duty at the club after a 2-1 loss to West Ham United in the league.

Ruud van Nistelrooy was named interim manager and the club finalized the signing of Ruben Amorim from Sporting CP. However, the latter will resume his role as head coach from November 11 onwards.

With Van Nistelrooy leading the club, Manchester United defeated Leicester City 5-2 in the Carabao Cup Round of 16. They then played a 1-1 draw with Chelsea in the Premier League before seeing off POAK in the UEFA Europa League. They then beat Leicester in the league on Sunday.

They will next face newly-promoted Ipswich Town in the league on Sunday, November 24 after the international break. Manchester United are 13th in the league standings with 15 points after 11 matches.
