"He could thrive at United with that opportunity" - Louis Saha urges Manchester United to sign Real Madrid star
Former Manchester United striker Louis Saha has urged the club to sign Turkish youngster Arda Guler from Real Madrid. He believes Guler will thrive at Old Trafford despite currently struggling for minutes at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Speaking to Manchester Evening News, Saha stated that Manchester United needed a playmaker who could create chances freely. The former striker added that a loan deal would also be ideal for the player and the Red Devils and said:
"Manchester United have lots they could offer Arda Guler, including more playing time than he gets at Real Madrid currently. United need that type of playmaker who plays with freedom and it's very difficult for young players to get that at Real Madrid especially in midfield. He could thrive at United with that opportunity.
"He needs to play to reach his potential and maybe a loan would suit him after he was so impressive at Euro 2024, he is a very clever player. United need someone who can provide chances to players like Bruno Fernandes and Rasmus Hojlund, they need a player who is capable of playing that final pass and that could be him."
Real Madrid have reportedly no plans to let Arda Guler leave. However, he has been reduced to a bench role and has played just 266 minutes in eight LaLiga matches, with another 40 minutes in three UEFA Champions League games, this term.
Real Madrid told to loan out player Louis Saha wants at Manchester United
Former Turkey star Nihat Kahveci is not happy with Real Madrid's treatment of Arda Guler and has urged them to loan the player out. He believes that Real Sociedad will be an ideal club for the youngster, and told AS:
"I pray for him, so that he can show his immense talent. He is a player of a very high category and he likes to be a leader on the pitch. He needs to play to develop. Spending so much time on the bench is not good for him. If (Carlo) Ancelotti gives him continuity he will go further and he will progress spectacularly. I am sure of it. He will go as far as he wants to go. If they let him, he will play much better than he has done so far because one of his virtues is that he never settles and always wants to improve."
Manchester United are looking to add a creative player amid concerns about Mason Mount, who has been injured more often than not. The former Chelsea player recently returned to full training.
