“He will have a boiling head on him” - Graeme Souness backs Raheem Sterling to impress at Arsenal after poor Chelsea spell

Graeme Souness believes that Arsenal signing Raheem Sterling on loan from Chelsea is an unbelievable piece of business by the Gunners. He claimed that the Englishman will be raring to show his worth after getting frozen out at Stamford Bridge.

In his Daily Mail column, Souness wrote that the Gunners have got a player who is angry and desperate to prove people wrong. He believes that the Englishman can be key to helping them win trophies this season and wrote:

"Signing Raheem Sterling for the season is an unbelievable piece of business for Mikel, as much as it's a terrible piece of business for Chelsea. I would imagine Arsenal are getting a Sterling who will be angry and looking to prove people wrong.
"You're not buying a 29-year-old who's in his armchair. You're buying a 29-year-old who will have a boiling head on him. Despite what I've said about Jesus, I'm not very interested in the talk about how 'the one thing missing' for Arsenal being a proven striker. The only thing that's missing is getting over the line, and winning one of the big two trophies."

Sterling moved to the Emirates on Deadline Day after he was frozen out of the Chelsea squad by Enzo Maresca. The manager opted to use Mykhailo Mudryk and Pedro Neto as his left-wingers this season.

Sergio Aguero backs Raheem Sterling to shine at Arsenal after move from Chelsea

Sergio Aguero has also claimed that Raheem Sterling is a great signing for Arsenal this summer. He believes that the Englishman will do well under Mikel Arteta as he knows the manager well from the latter's assistant manager stint at Manchester City. He added that Sterling can help the Gunners in the big games.

The former Manchester City star said to Stake.com:

"I think it's a great signing for Arsenal. Arteta and Raheem know each other very well from their time at City. Mikel will surely be able to find a way to let Sterling show his best game.
"Besides, the team is very well-consolidated, and they've been a tough contender over the last few seasons. The team has a deep bench and Raheem comes as a solid reinforcement. They'll come out as a stronger rival for sure."

Meanwhile, having let Sterling go, Chelsea signed Jadon Sancho from Manchester United on loan for the season with an obligation to buy next summer. The Englishman will be another option for Enzo Maresca at Stamford Bridge this season.
