"Helped us a lot with his creativity" - Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti singles out 3 stars for praise following 3-0 victory over Leganes
Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has praised a number of his players for their performances in his side's 3-0 win over Leganes. Los Blancos closed the gap to league leaders Barcelona to four points, having played one game less than the Catalan side.
Ancelotti was forced into making tactical changes after the trio of Lucas Vazquez, Eder Militao, and Rodrygo picked up injuries in their last league game, a 4-0 win over Osasuna. The Italian tactician introduced Raul Asencio and Arda Guler into the XI to face Leganes, and played Federico Valverde at right-back in the absence of options.
Real Madrid were dominant away from home, and manager Carlo Ancelotti has put this down to the performances of three of his players, Guler, Asencio, and Eduardo Camavinga. The former Everton manager praised the trio, pointing out how they each impacted the game in his eyes.
“Arda Güler has helped us a lot with his creativity. I’m very happy with him," he said via Fabrizio Romano. “I also liked Raul Asencio a lot, he played a serious game. And then Camavinga… he’s at his best."
Turkiye international Guler was named in the starting XI for the game and played for 75 minutes before he was replaced by Brahim Diaz. The 19-year-old registered an assist, created two chances, completed 100 percent of his dribbles, and won six of eight duels in the game.
Raul Asencio started a game for the first time in the colors of his club, and the 21-year-old impressed alongside Antonio Rudiger at centre-back. He won 100 percent of his aerial duels and made four clearances, while also creating a chance for his side.
Camavinga, also, had a good game for Real Madrid as he played the entire 90 minutes. The Frenchman made three accurate long balls and created one chance in the game, while also making six recoveries.
Mbappe and Bellingham on target in important Real Madrid win
Kylian Mbappe and Jude Bellingham were among the goals as Real Madrid cruised to a 3-0 win over Leganes in their LaLiga encounter on Sunday. Los Blancos leapfrogged city rivals Atletico Madrid to reach second place in the standings following their win.
Left out of the France team for last week's internationals, Mbappe opened the scoring for the Madrid side with a tap-in from close range in the 43rd minute after Vinicius Jr. set him up. Ancelotti's side had to wait until the 66th minute for a second, and it came courtesy of the boot of Federico Valverde from outside the box.
Star midfielder Jude Bellingham had the final say for his side in the 85th minute, heading home from close range after Brahim Diaz struck the woodwork. Real Madrid now sit merely four points from Barcelona, who drew 2-2 at Celta Vigo this weekend.
