"His transfer is always a possibility" - Agent of Inter Miami star admits he could leave Lionel Messi led MLS side for Premier League club

Lionel Messi's Inter Miami teammate Diego Gomez's agent Renato Bittar has revealed that the Paraguayan could move to Premier League club Brighton & Hove Albion. The Seagulls are looking to continue their progress under new boss Fabian Hurzeler.

Roberto De Zerbi has left the club and to continue the improvement the Italian started, Brighton need a strong squad. They have already signed Mats Wieffer and Gomez has now emerged as a top target for the Seagulls.

Gomez's agent, Bittar, has now hinted at a potential transfer, telling Versus (via HITC):

"With the performance he had in the pre-olympics in Miami, his transfer is always a possibility. He (Diego) is a desirable player, but at this moment he is 100% in the Olympic games, to represent our country well, then we will see what to do with that."

Bittar added that a potential announcement could come soon and added that Inter Miami are aware of the talks with Brighton. Gomez, 21, has so far made 28 appearances for the Herons, scoring five goals and providing four assists.

He is a seven-time Paraguay international but missed out on the Copa America 2024 squad.

Inter Miami's Diego Gomez has hinted at joining Brighton

Diego Gomez has already hinted at joining Brighton & Hove Albion this summer. The Paraguayan claimed he joined Inter Miami with the intention to eventually join European football. Speaking to Versus, Gomez said (via HITC):

"My representative is speaking with the club here in Brighton about a possible move. I came here to make the jump to Europe; I hope it happens to me. Let it be what god wants."

Pascal Gross has been linked with a move away from Brighton as Borussia Dortmund are reportedly interested in the player. Gomez could act as a replacement for Gross.

Brighton, meanwhile, finished 11th in the EPL last season, after finishing sixth in 2022-23. They have been punching above weight for a while and the Seagulls plan on doing so this season as well.
