Is Lionel Messi injured ahead of Copa America 2024?
Lionel Messi has been Inter Miami's best player this season, propelling them to the top of the MLS Eastern Conference table. La Pulga has already scored 10 goals and provided nine assists for the Miami-based outfit in the MLS, but his fitness seems to be the biggest concern for manager Tata Martino at this point.
The Ballon d'Or winner has already had knee and hamstring problems in 2024. In a video posted by Franco Panizo, Messi was seen grimacing with pain in his left leg during an Inter Miami training drill. Although he completed the training session, these are worrying signs for Tata Martino and Argentina coach Lionel Scaloni, who will be preparing for the upcoming Copa America tournament.
The Argentine sat out Inter Miami's last game against Vancouver and further participation before the Copa America seems doubtful. Argentina will need the eight-time Ballon d'Or winner to be at his peak to win the coveted trophy.
