"How many years are we going to enjoy you" - Argentina star sends message to Manchester United's Alejandro Garnacho after Copa America win

Argentina star Rodrigo De Paul has waxed lyrical about Alejandro Garnacho after the Manchester United winger won his first major trophy with his national team. The Red Devils prodigy was a member of Lionel Scaloni's squad who triumphed in the United States by winning Copa America 2024.

When responding to the winger's Instagram post, De Paul dubbed Garnacho the present and future of La Abiceleste. He said:

"Present and future, how many years are we going to enjoy you, man!!"

Alejandro Garnacho, 20, made just one appearance off the bench as Argentina won Copa America. He made his international debut in June 2023, aged 18, after La Abiceleste fought off the threat of Spain, who tried enticing him to switch nationality.

Manchester United figures, fans, and players are well aware of Garnacho's talents as he lit up Old Trafford last season. Their academy graduate registered 10 goals and five assists in 50 games across competitions.

The former Atletico Madrid academy product is now making waves on the international scene. He's earned six caps to date, and evidently, his teammates feel he's got a bright future.

Garnacho won't be representing Argentina at the Olympic Games, though. United played hardball over the young winger and ensured he'd meet up with Erik ten Hag's squad for pre-season instead.

Alejandro Garnacho's incredible 2023-24 campaign with Manchester United has alerted Europe to the talents of Argentina international. He dazzled consistently for Ten Hag's side and was awarded the 'Premier League Goal of the Season' for his spectacular bicycle kick against Everton.

The Madrid-born winger is one of several youngsters vying to become the 2024 Golden Boy winner. He currently occupies third place, per a leaked list of the nominees selected by Tuttosport.

Kobbie Mainoo, 19, is another Manchester United youngster who flourished last season and built a strong rapport with Garnacho. He's seventh in the rankings, while Barcelona starlet Lamine Yamal unsurprisingly sits top after his Euro 2024 heroics helped Spain win the tournament.

The Argentine could soon be joined by Leny Yoro, 18, who sits fifth in the rankings. The French defender has undergone a medical ahead of a €50 million plus add-ons transfer from LOSC Lille to United.

Garnacho impressed many with his versatility last season as he moved from his preferred left-wing position to the right. He more than made up for Antony's poor performances and Jadon Sancho's loan exit to Borussia Dortmund.
